Elgato Streamdeck Plugin for Bluesky

This Streamdeck plugin allows you to:

• Make instant or scheduled posts to BlueSky with text, links, photo, and video! You can also toggle your name with a 🔴Live status and see your live follower count (updates hourly after being pushed) from your streamdeck!
• Enter in a full username (usually in the style of Handle.bsky.social if you don't have a custom domain) and password alongside your desired message.
• Include @tagging (again in style of @Handle.bsky.social or other domain), #tags, and full hyperlinks in the message body.

This streamdeck plugin does not allow you to:

• You cannot sign in with 2FA enabled. I'm still updating the token acquisition process and I still haven't moved over to support 2 factor authentication yet. It's hopefully the next thing I am working on. If this is a security feature on your account, please wait.
• You cannot correctly send video of all aspect ratios. By default, Bluesky will assume a 16:9 aspect ratio. They will still take your video if it doesn't match, but it may have black bars. Support for automatic aspect ratio detection will come when I can figure out making ffprobe cooperative.
• You cannot use this plugin to spam Bluesky. Your account will be rate limited or banned by Bluesky and there is nothing I can do about it.

Q: Why isn't this on the Elgato Marketplace?
A: They haven't responded to my creator application email and I'm tired of waiting.

Q: Whoa, how can I trust you with my password?
A: You can't, which is why I don't get to see it. What you type is on your machine only and gets sent to the service you choose (bsky.social/ by default).

Q: It isn't posting! / It isn't showing followers!
A: That's not a question! But check if your username and password are correct. Your username must include your domain ( .bsky.social for most people) and your password is case sensitive as always. Streamdeck will remind you if the username / password / message fields are empty, but will not error if your password is incorrect. Please also read the above section regarding 2FA. If everything else is correct, it is possible Bluesky is having server problems if Elon has recently done something dumb and caused another mass exodus.

Q: Why isn't my image/video working?
A: Try adding alt text describing your image. Also, Bluesky limits images through its API to 1MB in size. Videos, however, can be much larger. The API states the largest acceptable video file is 1GB, but I have only tested to 35MB, so above that ymmv. Just give them time to fully be processed, as the post may show an error until Bluesky finishes.

Q: What file formats are now supported?
A: Png, jpg, jpeg, gif, and mp4! Due to Streamdeck UI limitations, only one file may be attached per post.

As a general rule, if you experience any bugs, please delete the button and fully restart the Streamdeck software.
